Track one · Healthcare technology

Commercial and medical leadership, fractional.

For healthtech, medtech, and therapeutics teams that need a physician who can sell and an operator who can build — without the full-time hire. Nine years inside a venture-backed clinical decision support company, from first customer to acquisition.

Services

What I do for healthcare companies.

Go-to-market & commercialization strategy

Positioning, pricing, and ROI models that survive contact with a hospital CFO. Stakeholder analysis and buying-committee mapping — champion, economic buyer, IT, procurement — plus segmentation, launch playbooks, and the first reference customers.

Fractional medical affairs

KOL strategy and relationships, advisory boards designed to produce decisions, evidence generation plans, congress strategy, and publications. A physician leading the function part-time, until the full-time hire makes sense.

Clinical strategy & evidence

Study design, registries, and outcomes research that make the product credible — the same discipline behind an international 50-center trauma registry and validation studies that demonstrated double-digit survival improvement.

Partnerships & business development

Channel and health system partnerships, from target list to signed agreement. I have negotiated partnerships that secured over $1M in annual recurring revenue, and I know where these deals stall.

Investor & diligence support

Clinical and commercial diligence for investors, and exit-readiness for founders: evidence audit, adoption risk, sales-motion reality checks, and an honest read on what an acquirer will see.

Why a physician-operator

I've sat on both sides of the table.

I've been the emergency physician your product interrupts, the researcher your evidence has to convince, and the commercial lead who has to make the number. That combination is rare — and it changes the advice. KOLs return my calls because I speak medicine. Health system buyers take the meeting because I speak workflow and ROI. And I never recommend a motion I haven't run myself.

Engagements run as an advisory retainer, fractional role, or project sprint — scoped in a first conversation that costs you nothing.

Common questions

Asked often, answered honestly.

What stage of company do you work with?

Mostly seed through Series B healthcare technology companies — clinical decision support, hospital-facing SaaS, medical devices, and digital therapeutics — plus later-stage teams standing up a medical affairs function for the first time. If you are earlier than that, a project sprint on validation or go-to-market is usually the right first step.

What does fractional medical affairs actually include?

The work a VP of Medical Affairs would do, at roughly a day a week: KOL identification and relationships, advisory board design and facilitation, evidence strategy, study and registry design, congress and publication planning, and medical review of commercial materials. You get the function without the full-time salary.

Do you support investors and acquirers?

Yes. I do clinical and commercial diligence for investors evaluating healthcare technology deals — is the evidence real, will clinicians adopt it, can this team sell into health systems — and post-investment commercialization support for portfolio companies.

Where are you based, and do you work remotely?

Houston, Texas — in the middle of the Texas Medical Center ecosystem — and I work with companies across the United States. Most engagements run remotely with periodic on-site sessions.
